The Itchy and Scratchy Show

Tip for the day: When making candied yams, don't forget to drain the sweet potatoes (otherwise, it turns out kind of runny)

Well I'm afraid there's not too much good to report. My uncle Bill is back in the hospital and so our prayers are with him. As for me, I have the shingles (again). They're about like I remember them from when I was 6. Itchy, painful, and making me cranky. And just like before, I can't find darkwing duck on the TV at all. *sniff Pride and Prejudice will just have to suffice. I have to say that I don't mind being something of a social leper at all. Its a fabulous excuse to do nothing but its not bad enough to really keep me home.
Last night, I went out with Chrystal,Jason and Nicole. (Pleather pants and a pink corset...yea chrystal dressed me) It was goth/industrial night at Static. (a little on the lame side but I did enjoy the company...and beating them at pool)
But I can't end this without saying somehting good so at least Tom and Mel's wedding plans seem to be going well. Susan and Brandon get hitched this weekend and I should be well enough to get to Alyssa's wedding later this summer.

Update (on dates off dates mid dates... whatever)

Hey guys,
Well, the date with the bass player wasn't half bad. We met for coffee at mugs between my classes (that way I had an escape route in case he was an axe murderer). I was late....of course but I figure its best if they get used to that early don't you think? It may not be mad violent love at first site but then again who really wants that? Then you wind up in a relationship with someone that you think hung the moon and all the while wonder why you're feeling unfulfilled. But anyway, enough of my personal psychosis. He seems very nice. Dark hair light eyes and sideburns so we all know he meets my qualifications for attractive. We didn't make any plans to meet again but then again it seemed to go well and I was running off to class at mach 10.
I'm watching Gov. Arnold on Bill O'Riley. That just makes me happy. I still just want him to break out into cheesey terminator lines. He may be cutting the budget left and right but I think he's doing a very good job. I know its bad when a social worker is saying this but sometimes, you just have to go back to basics untill you know what you can afford and I think that California's situation is one of those. Honestly, if California were a person, it's credit would be worse than mine (and that's saying something I think). Not such a fan of Bill's new habit of saying "enjoy your kool-aide" though, it's just kind of stupid...seems a little bit childish and beneath him.
So seeing how my cold turkey turned out a little on the smokey side, we're trying this again. This time, Jason and I are quitting together and we have a wager. If he breaks down and smokes before I do, he has to give away his comic book collection that he's had since he was 8. If I smoke before he does, I have to become a vegitarian for a full year. I know this doesn't sound nearly as drastic, but one has to understand the eating habits of my family to fully understand the sacrifice. That basically means no comfort food, no BBQ, no French Chicken, No Holliday meals for a whole year.... that and food is very important to me its one of the few things that's always there (unless of course you're in samalia or something but I'm very untraveled). Wish me luck as it starts tomarrow.

Told ya!

Hey guys,
Now who always said Michael wasn't guilty.... oh yea...it was me!! Now I'm not saying he should join the babysitters club or that my child would be alowed to go alone to neverland (that would just be negligent) but weird as he is, and with the information I know, I'm glad that he got off. Of course, I was for OJ back in the day too and he was probably guilty as sin.
Guess I'm not taken any more. The boy and I decided that it would be better to wait on the relationship instead of f it up. But he says he's waiting for me and I actually believe him. I just need to find my butterflies again and hopefully I can do that before I'm old and grey.
In other news, I'm back in the fort. Classes started today and there are at least two people I know in each class (including the hot airforce boy from last summer and this time I'm not taken...who knows? Second chance?) If not, Chrystal, Jess and I went to a concert night before last and I have a date with the bass player. And no Tom, I'm not turning into a serial dater, its just that wednesday dinner starts this week and I need to get my dates lined up for the next couple months.
Take care and I'll write if I wind up with any new stories on par with the infamous jello-shot boy,
<3katie
PS this is day 1 cold turkey (again!)
